Joshua P. Weiss is a seasoned trial attorney and managing member of Abbott, Weiss, Faith & Darnell, PLLC. Licensed to practice law in both Tennessee and Georgia, Josh has dedicated his career to defending individuals facing criminal charges and protecting their constitutional rights.

Raised in East Cobb, Georgia, Josh graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens in 2003 with dual degrees in Political Science and Latin & Classical Culture. During his undergraduate years, he developed strong communication and negotiation skills while working for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, selling newspaper subscriptions door-to-door. Josh credits this experience with shaping his interpersonal abilities and laying the foundation for his persuasive advocacy. Additionally, as an active member of the Demosthenian Literary Society, he further honed his talents in debate, critical thinking, and public speaking. A proud Georgia Bulldog, Josh remains an avid fan of Georgia Football.

Josh earned his law degree from the University of New Hampshire School of Law and went on to pass both the Tennessee and Georgia bar exams simultaneously—an achievement that laid the foundation for his multi-jurisdictional practice. After relocating to Chattanooga, Tennessee, Josh established his own firm, The Law Office of Joshua Weiss. In 2017, he joined Cavett, Abbott & Weiss as a partner, where he further honed his litigation skills and built a reputation for tenacious advocacy. In 2025, Josh became the managing partner of Abbott, Weiss, Faith & Darnell, where he continues to lead the firm with a focus on strategic growth and unwavering dedication to his clients.

Since 2011, Josh has devoted his practice almost exclusively to criminal and DUI defense, representing clients in a wide range of cases—from misdemeanor charges to high-profile murder and sexual offense trials. With over thirty jury trials in both civil and criminal courts, Josh brings extensive courtroom experience to every matter he handles. He has successfully litigated cases in Tennessee and Georgia state courts, as well as in federal court, and has argued multiple appeals before the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals.

Josh met his wife, Eden, in Chattanooga, and together they are raising two wonderful children, along with a dog and a cat who keep life lively at home. Outside the courtroom, Josh enjoys traveling with his family, collecting fine bourbon, and staying active in his synagogue and with the Jewish Federation.
